5 out of 5 stars GREAT PRODUCT!   July 29, 2010
L. Leopold (USA)
I've had the this dual flush converter for about 6 months now. I bought 4 of them along with the matching fill valve (HydroClean Fill Valve) (also reviewed) because I was tired of the high water bills I was getting. This converter works well and has plenty of flushing power on the full flush. The light flush has enough power to handle liquids and about one or two pieces of toilet paper. The install was pretty easy and it took about 20 mins to install both the converter and fill valve. I'd recommend buying both if you are thinking of putting this in... hydroclean fill valve has a feature that lets you control how much water to send to the overfill valve(into the bowl) which saves water and money. It also has a self cleaning feature and a leak detector. My water bill has been reduced $60 a MONTH since installing these!!! I'd highly recommend them for anyone looking to save water/save the earth and/or save money.

Well, it's pretty easy to install and seems to work great on my old toilets. The buttons are a bit harder to push than the old lever so if you have little ones they might not be able to use it.

5 out of 5 stars HydroRight Dual Flush is Right After All   July 27, 2010
Greg L. Sahlstrom
There are many reviews of the Dual Flush device called HydroRight that are quite mistaken in their evaluation. Let me explain why.

The device was easy to install and seems quite well made. There were only two problems that had to be resolved. The first one was that I had to replace the fill valve, as I had an old fashioned float type. I installed the HydroClean, by the same company that makes the HydroRight Dual Flush device. THe HydroClean has two advantages: (1) It lets you adjust the water level in the toilet bowl so that you save water by not over filling the bowl and having the excess run down the drain pipe. Also (2) it has water jets that keep sediment from settling in the tank (for a cleaner tank). It also puts on a good effervescent water show if you open the tank and take a look. Neat.

Then there was another difficulty to be resolved. The #1 (liquid) setting didn't adequately remove the liquid waste (I used coffee for testing purposes). The people at HydroRight suggested raising the water level in the tank a half inch or so, perhaps by sticking a piece of pvc pipe on top of the flush valve (the tube thing that prevents the tank from over flowing). At Lowes hardware I found a Korky Adjustable Flush Valve (that lets you adjust the overflow tube to between 7 1/2" and 11". Installation was easy (though it did involve removing the tank). It came with more bolts and nuts and washers than were needed (imagine that!) so that you can attach the bolts to the tank (with a set of rubber washers, bolts, metal washers and nuts) before attaching the tank to the toilet with another set of rubber washers, metal washers and nuts. That made adjustments much easier than having only one pair of metal washers and nuts. With the tank secured to the toilet, I installed the HydroClean Flush Valve and adjusted it so that the water level in the tank would be about 1 1/2" to 1" above the usual water line. I then installed the HydroRight (the rubber ring and white cam adjuster were not needed with this flush valve). The only complication was that I had to use a sharp blade to get the zip tie to release (so that I could reuse it - there is an extra one in the package if you end up cutting the zip tie). That is because the HydroClean tube is thicker and so doesn't need the cam, and the adjustable ring on the top of its tube would prevent use of the rubber ring. They were not needed. I adjusted the HydroRight's green full flush adjustment all the way to the top.

Wow! There was lots more pressure and both #1 & #2 settings flushed just fine. Now, it has been suggested that with the higher water level, you would waste more water for the "full flush". That isn't actually true. With the green slide all the way to the top (and the blue float adjusted to about 1/2 inch below the surface of the water in the tanks) you have more water pressure, but the tank doesn't actually empty all the way. I have a couple of inches of water left when the full flush is used. So, no water wasted. Everything works great. The contractors grade Briggs toilets in my home, that have never flushed well, now for the first time flush great!MJSI HYR270 HydroRight Drop-in Dual Flush ConverterMJSI HC660 HydroClean Water-Saving Toilet Fill Valve with Cleaning Tube

4 out of 5 stars Great product - but I don't like the flusher-button   July 25, 2010
Pipsi
I bought this product a couple month ago. Great concept, great product, easy installation - only the flusher button has 2 issues:
1) you need to press it in very hard to make it flush. smaller kids have trouble flushing with this product and for adults it's annoying too....to have use so much strength to flush a toilet.
2) the flusher button is cheap material. i was sad to take down my high quality, sturdy flusher for this flimsy one

Aside from the flusher button, this product is great.

5 out of 5 stars Stop flushing your money down the toilet!   July 24, 2010

Facts:
-- Water is not free for most of us.
-- Toilets are made so that each flush is able to push solid waste from the bowl.
-- When there is no solid material in the bowl, there is no need to use so much water in order to flush the liquid waste from the bowl.
-- This product allows you to save hundreds of gallons of water each month!

It took me around 1 hour to install three of these in our bathrooms. I am so impressed with how well made the product is and how simple it was to install. You do not realize just how little fresh water is needed to replace the water in your toilet bowl. We are big time flushers in our house, because we have three labs that will drink from the toilet. Most of the time, we are flushing gum, a tissue, or dog hair clumps down the toilet... items that do not require a full flush to dispose of them completely. We saw a difference in our very first water bill thanks to this product. I have recommended it my family and friends.
