Product Description The Sylvania DOT-it Black Self-Adhesive Bright White LED Light can stick and re-stick practically anywhere. DOT-it lights are small enough to fit in your pocket and can stick to a variety of surfaces, including fabric, leather, plastic, glass and fiberglass. Use them anywhere you need light: in your car, in your home, where you play, where you work or with your kids. Just a press in the center turns a DOT-it light on and off. Peel off the adhesive backing and stick it wherever you need light. Leave on the adhesive backing to carry it like a flashlight. They feature a wireless, portable design you can use at home or on the go. Lights include three replaceable AAA batteries that provide power for about 100 hours of bright, white LED light. The LEDs inside DOT-it lights will last for years. Three replaceable AAA batteries are included.

Not So Convenient After All: Difficult to Change the Batteries March 6, 2010 Kalamazoo (New York City) This is a great little light--while it works. I put it under my desk (where my legs go) so I can see all my electrical wires, power cords and outlets. It illuminates the little space just fine, but I was *highly* disappointed when I realized that it's a pain in the tuckus to change the batteries on this thing! I thought it would be some kind of twist mechanism in which the base stays on the surface and you just twist the top part off. After that didn't work, I went to the hardware store to look at the packaging to see if it had instructions. It didn't (no surprise there), so I asked an employee, and he said you have to yank it off the wall. I went home and tried and tried and it wouldn't come off. For something that claims to be so convenient and easy, it was not very convenient at all.
Then, when i finally managed to pull it off somehow, I learned that you have to UNSCREW three little screws (slightly larger than screws for eyeglasses) in the back to get the back off! Unbelievable. And then, it was pretty tough to separate the parts! It was only when I accidentally dropped it that the back came off to expose the batteries. Luckily it takes 3 AAA batteries (and not those watch-type batteries), but it's just hard to believe that for something so little and simple there would be so much involved in changing the batteries!
Sylvania should really redesign this thing so the batteries are easier to change. For the functionality, I rate this little light a 5, but because it's a real pain to change the battery, my rating goes down to a 3.
Replaceable batteries--though it does not say... September 1, 2009 ThisBuyer (New York) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love these guys, so simple to use and bright: press down to turn "on", press down again for "off". Easy, anyone can do it--hey you can use your nose, your elbow, your head, your chin, your cat's and dog's paw, your knee, etc.,--how convenient is that. Great for kids and people with joint pain. [[HERE a treat: When there is no more battery juice, I peel the sticky back cleanly away, unscrew the three small screws and replace the battery and whoohoo, they are off lighting the way again and again. They are reusable. I don't use the sticky back, but you can easily replace the sticky back tape with some 3M double-sided-sticky-foam-tape (remember to cut out holes for the three screws) and off you go.]] I keep one in the car and several scattered around the house. Batttery life if good for the many times I've used them. Because of the easy push on feature, you should have these lights displayed where you can see them otherwise you can accidentially turn them on. (My learn as you go experience: I accidentally left one of these lights under a seat cushion and the light came on after someone sat on the chair, being that it was dark and we were watching Aliens, well everyone around was a little perturbed by the glowing seat cushion.) Just remember a certain amount of pressure could turn them on.
not what I thought August 20, 2009 Monique Sarraff Ravelo (Fl) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
At first, the light worked great for a few days and was bright. (We wanted it for our child's room in case of a hurricane). Afterward, it stopped working. We changed the battery and it still did not work. The item cost about $7.00 and I purchased it online so it was not worth going through the trouble of exchanging it or returning it. It was money lost for us. Perhaps it was just that particular light was defective?
A bit clunky June 12, 2009 R A (Nevada) Long lasting LED's for sure. I don't find the round shape useful and the switch can take some determination.
The push button mechanism is little stiff March 20, 2009 Umang Saini (Bangalore, India) Works exactly as advertised. I found the button slightly stiff, however, it's quite handy in my closet.
