many uses February 2, 2010 Dayman (carmen, sandiego) great product, used it to repair a hole in my jeans caused by having a super magnet in there all the time. reinforced it and now my sevens can take the stress that a powerful neodymium magnet brings upon them since theyre reinforced with a patch made by levis! also i used the glue to repair my headphones where the cord rubber actually split and the audio wires were showing, it worked great to put a layer of clear/resilient snot around it. A+ will buy more when it runs out
Too pricey for glue January 22, 2010 Glenn E. Graham (Pflugerville, TX USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
There are a lot of cheap alternative at you local auto shop the are glue too but cheaper
does the job June 4, 2009 Just Trying to Help (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
within days of receiving this product, I had repaired 4 pairs of pants and converted several kids Jeans into Jean shorts (by using it to hem them)
Granted, sewing would be the best solution most of the time.
But I don't know how to sew, and don't need to sew enough to become good at it, so i will be using this from now on.
It will certainly make it into my emergency kit.
The little plastic applicator seems like its mostly a waste of time and a good way to waste the product. It is a bit useful when you want to do a hem.
The product is a bit runny so you do need to be careful. And as other reviews noted, you should not use it to get professional results. I have seen some discoloration in different clothing repairs, but this is due to the glue soaking thinner material and making it appear darker. I don't perceive this as a problem with the product itself, its just the nature of this sort of repair glue...
Great Product January 25, 2009 A. Prioletta 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This product was shipped to me within a week of ordering it. It works exactly how it's described on the package. In my case, I needed to repair a leather coat which had a rip at one of the pocket seams and was going to cost more than $30 to repair elsewhere. I would definitely recommend the Tear Mender to anyone.
Strong adhesive, easy to work with, no toxic October 20, 2008 Angela R. Valenti 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I used it on my sofa in a large tear and, till now (about 1 month), is holding. To do this work I put a fabric patch under the tear and it worked but when I tried to paste leather with leather it didn't. Anyway my opinion about this product is positive: it is a very strong adhesive that you can work with bare hands because, when it dries, becomes a thin, elastic skin, so the residues are very easy to put away.
